What is a papilloma?

A papilloma is a polyp-like growth which is usually located in one of the terminal breast ducts.

It is usually asymptomatic but can cause nipple discharge.

Do I need surgery?

Most polyps are diagnosed with a biopsy and should be excised surgically as they carry a small risk of having atypical cells (ADH) or cancerous cells (DCIS).
